How can I install it?

Step-1     Insert your NCS Apple  Accounts CD in CD drive.

Step-2     Click [My Computer] 

Step-3     Click CD icon to view its contents.

Step-4     Run [setup] file from cd

                It may install some files and will ask you to reboot the system.

                If Access2000 is not installed on your computer then it will install Access2000 on your computer. After installing the Access2000 it will continue to install NCS Apple Accounts.

You must install this program in this directory c:\proj3\apac2000 . In any other directory it will not run.

Step-5     In install location give the directory name c:\proj3\apac2000

When the software is installed it will be added in the [Windows Start] menu. You can run it from start menu.

Can I install it in some other directory?

No, You must install this software in c:\proj3\apac2000 .

Initially I installed the software successfully and it was working fine but now I see this message. 

Message:    Unrecognised database format c:\projects\<file name>.mde

Reason: Your data files are corrupt. 

Solution: Copy them from your backup files.

Message: Run-time error 3044:    c:\proj3\apac2000\apac2000.mde is not a valid path. Make sure that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the server on which the files resides.

Reason: You have copied your backup files in the wrong directory

OR

You have installed software in the diredctory which is not specified by NCS.

Solution: Install or copy the software files in the c:\proj3\apac2000 directory. You can not run this software in any other directory.

Message: The database apac2000 is read only. You won't be able to save changes make to data or object definitions in the database.

Reason: You copied files from the CD or some other media which marks the files as read only.

Solution: Right click on the c:\proj3 directory. Select [properties]. Unclick the [Read Only] flag. Press [Apply] button.

To backup your the program and data files of the NCS Apple Accounts you need to copy  the folder c:\Proj3   on some other hard disk or floppy drive. This folder contains all the program files and data files. To backup or copy the folder you should follow the back up schedule. And always take backup after making the huge entries or adjustments.

You need to copy proj3 folder from the backup to c:\proj3. Restore the folder from the location where you have stored it as the backup. If you have made the backup using the MSBACKUP program or any other utility use the same utility to restore the backup.

Normally three copies of a software and data are maintained to restore the information in the case of data loss. These backups can be scheduled as below.
