CAT1- Display / Monitor Troubleshooting

C1.Q1- Why the program menu does not fit on my screen?

Ans:If your desktop area is not set to 800X600 then the menu does not appear on the screen completely. Though you can view its portion by using scroll bars which are given on the right or at the bottom of the menu window. To set the menu display you must set your computer display area to 800X600. To change the desktop area do this

Set the Desktop area to 800X600

If the system does not change the desktop area then the monitor or display card is not configured properly. Call some hardware expert to fix this problem.

C1.Q2- Why are the screen colors are not perfect on my screen?

Ans:Your graphic adopter is not set to high colors. To set the colors

    C2.Q2-   What is the default page size of the reports?

The A4 page size is used for the reports layout. It is default setting for all the software's reports. Another page size is used for the small size reports that is B5.

    C2.Q3-  Which type of printer can be used with the NCS Products?

All printers which are supported by the Windows are supported by NCS Products.

    C2.Q4- Can I use my network printer for printing?

Yes, You can use your network printer if it is shared and access is given to you for use. Before printing any report you must set your network printer as your default printer. You can also select the printer from the printer menu of the report window. for more details please see the windows help by pressing F1 key.

    C2.Q5- Can I set my reports page size etc myself?

Yes, If you want to change your page setup then click right mouse button on the current report and then select [Page setup]. You can make the necessary changes in the report layout.

    C2.Q6- How can I print a report while viewing it on the screen?

To print the report while you are viewing it, press right mouse button a menu shall appear on the screen, select the [Print] from the menu. The report will be send to your default printer.

CAT3- Date Problems

C3.Q1- What is the valid date format?

The date in NCS products can be entered only in this format

Format Example
DD-MM-YY 25-01-01
DD-MMM-YY 25-JAN-01

Other date format may not work properly.

First of all check if your date format is a valid date format.

If you are using some software which controls the financial year then enter the date within your financial year.

CAT4-  Installation Issues   

C4.Q1-I have installed the NCS XXXX Product successfully but it does not run Why?

Ans: There may be many reasons for a software to behave strangely. You should see the exact page according to you problem.

C4.Q2- Software is asking for a password. what is the password?

Ans: All the software password are "TEST" by default. You can change them through [system Configuration] option. The button for system configuration menu is given on the main menu of the software. For more detail see the related product page.

CAT5- Backup/Restore problems

C5.Q1- What are backups?

Ans. The copy of program files and data which are stored on a separate computer, another floppy disk or zip disk is called a backup. You can use the following programs to backup your program directory.

C5.Q2- Why should I keep the backup of my software?

Ans: Remember the backups are the only way to get out of trouble when you have lost your hard disk due to any reason. If you are not maintaining the backup of your program then you are playing with the fire. You can protect your business transaction only by keeping the backup of your precious data.

C5.Q3- Where should I keep the backup?

Ans: Always keep your program directory backup on some other computer floppy or zip disk. Now a days the Zip disk has proved a very reliable and efficient media for data storage. Our advice is to use zip disk.

To make the backup of NCS products you only need to backup software directory which is installed on your computer. The name of the programs and their respective directories are shown in the table:

A data file contains the name of your company and user license number. You should keep this file in a safe place. You will need this file when you will install a fresh copy of the same software. The >DAT file is supplied on a floppy disk separately. This file is given to only those who purchase User License?

C7-Q2- I do not have enough hard disk space on drive c:\?

Ans: You must install NCS products in the drive c:\. NCS products run in drive c:\ only. You need to make the space on you c:\ drive by removing unnecessary files. You may move some files to your d:\ or e:\ drive.
